A Glossary of Crypto and Blockchain Terms

Welcome to the SENB Verse Glossary — your crash course in crypto, Web3, and blockchain lingo. Whether you’re a seasoned degen or just figuring out what “HODL” means, this glossary breaks down the acronyms, slang, and tech jargon that shape the blockchain world — all without making your brain fork.

🔤 Section 1 — Essential Acronyms

  • DeFi — Decentralized Finance: financial applications built on blockchain networks without banks or middlemen.

  • NFT — Non-Fungible Token: a unique digital asset stored on a blockchain, used for art, music, collectibles, and identity.

  • CEX / DEX — Centralized Exchange / Decentralized Exchange: where crypto trading happens — either through a company (CEX) or peer-to-peer smart contracts (DEX).

  • L1 / L2 — Layer 1 and Layer 2: base blockchains (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana) and their scalability extensions.
